Why I love Chicago, a Wisconsin girl’s perspective:
I think I have now lived in Chicago for almost as long as I had lived in Green Bay , Wisconsin. Chicago is my home and in every way (other than cheering against my beloved Packers!!), I am a Chicagoan. And while I still bleed green & gold, I am a huge fan of everything else Chicago. Its an amazing city with tons to offer – to both the busy business traveller, the overscheduled family, or possibly the retiree looking for a vibrant city to call home. Chicago is an eclectic mix of all ages, demographics and the perfect place to call home.
Working at Suite Home Chicago has given me the opportunity to show our clients and their relocating employees everything that I love about our city. It is my personal goal to introduce our clients to parts of the city they might not have known about. Amazing properties and nearby: a local diner, the farmers market, park district activities, ethnic and alternative neighborhoods (other than Lincoln Park!) . Places and activities that can remind them of the home they moved from and a comfort in making Chicago their current home.
I still get asked the question by clients, family and friends, “so do you actually LIVE in the city? and you are going to raise your kids in the city?”. Yes, and Yes! While we don’t have a big backyard, we are blocks away from 5 amazing parks! We can walk to the grocery store, the kids school, to get ice cream, a number of casual or fine dining establishments, and the train which will take us downtown in 15 minutes. I am lucky for growing up in a quiet, safe town. But I am more and more excited every day for the whole new world my girls are exposed to everyday! The city is literally at their doorstep.
They just better never cheer for the Bears 🙂
